UniFi Talk

Business phones that run on the network you already have

UniFi Talk puts your phone system on the same platform as your WiFi, cameras, and doors. One vendor, one interface, and no per-seat contract that grows every time you hire someone.

Why the phone bill keeps climbing

Hosted phone providers price per seat, per month, forever. Add three people and the bill goes up. Keep the system ten years and you have paid for hardware you never owned, through a portal you cannot administer yourself without calling support.

UniFi Talk works differently. You buy the phones and the controller once. Calling minutes and phone numbers are the only recurring cost, because those are inherently recurring. Adding an extension takes about a minute, and the phone system shows up in the same console as everything else in the building.

Phones and hardware

Handsets powered by the PoE switching that is already in the building.

  • Desk phones and touchscreen handsets
  • Conference room and common area phones
  • Mobile app so staff take calls off site
  • No separate phone cabling in most buildings

Call handling

The routing customers actually notice, set up properly the first time.

  • Auto-attendant and menu trees
  • Hunt groups and ring strategies by department
  • Business hours and after-hours routing
  • Hold music and custom greetings

Records and messaging

Everything you need to go back and check what was said.

  • Voicemail delivered to email
  • Call recording where you need it
  • Call logs and reporting
  • SMS to your business number where supported

Getting your number over

The part that takes longest, scheduled so it does not cost you calls.

  • Port existing numbers from your current provider
  • Cutover scheduled outside business hours
  • Old system stays live until the new one is proven
  • Directory and extension list documented at handoff

What the switch usually looks like

Timeline
Most single-location installs are surveyed, quoted, cabled, and cut over inside a few weeks. Number porting is the long pole, not the hardware.
Prerequisites
A UniFi network with PoE switching. If you do not have one yet, the phone install and the network install get quoted together.
Recurring cost
Phone numbers and calling minutes only. No per-seat license for the phone system itself.
Existing phones
Most non-UniFi SIP handsets will not carry over. We will tell you plainly during the survey rather than after you have signed.
Failover
Calls forward to mobile numbers automatically if the internet drops, configured during setup.
How it works

From walkthrough to fully managed

Site survey

We walk the building, look at what is there, and ask what has actually been failing you. No charge and no obligation.

Design & fixed quote

A diagram, an equipment list, and one number. You see what you are buying and why it costs what it costs.

Clean installation

Structured cabling, labeled terminations, tidy racks, and cutover scheduled around your business hours.

Handoff & support

We train your team, hand over documentation you own, and monitor the system if you want us to.

Common questions

Before you call

Can I keep my current phone number?

Yes. Numbers port from your existing provider. Porting is the part of the project that takes the longest and the part we do not control, so we schedule the cutover around the port date and leave your old system running until the new one is confirmed working.

What happens if the internet goes down?

Calls fail over to mobile numbers you designate. We set that up during installation rather than leaving it as something to figure out during an outage. If uptime is critical, we can also discuss a second internet line with automatic failover at the gateway.

Is there a per-seat monthly fee?

Not for the phone system. You pay for phone numbers and calling minutes, which every provider charges for because they are real recurring costs. You are not paying rent on the software or the handsets.

Can staff take calls when they are not in the building?

Yes. The mobile app rings on their phone with your business number as the caller ID. Field techs, sales staff, and anyone on call can work without giving out a personal cell number.

Do I need to replace my network first?

You need PoE switching and enough bandwidth, which most properly built UniFi networks already have. If your network is undersized or the cabling is not there, we will scope both together so you are not paying for two separate mobilizations.

Let us walk your building

Tell us what is not working. We will survey the site and send you a straight quote, and if it is not something we can help with we will tell you that instead.
